3 Ministays Staycations for You in Sydney

We’ve redefined the morning commute, working from home and work attire, maybe it’s time to rethink what a vacation is.

While we, along with the rest of the world, impatiently wait for when it’s safe to start flying again, there are some options closer to home. If you need to get out and break up the monotony of the last few months, consider a short road trip or a staycation. And it doesn’t have to cost you too much, all it takes is a bit of planning and research!

Luckily for you, I’ve made that ‘sacrifice’ and taken a few Ministays over the last few months to help guide your decision on where your next staycation is going to be in Sydney!

Level 3: Affordable Comfort

57Hotel
57 Foveaux St, Surry Hills

At first glance you might discount the eccentric styling of 57Hotel. The unique layout of the room complete with a glass-walled bathroom and sheer privacy curtain helps you feel like maybe you’re somewhere other than next to Central station. Other than being conveniently located, 57Hotel also offers a few different options; Single, Twin Shoebox, Mini Disco Double, Dancing Queen, The King and The King Plus One.

I think the charm of this hotel is in the styling and its location. If what you’re after is a comfortable, stylish place to stay while you treat yourself to a fancy dinner, or some pampering, 57Hotel would be ideal.

Rooms rates start at $80 per night and you can book direct or through your favourite booking site.

Level 2: Budget Boujie

Sunny Seaside Abode
Manly

After being stuck at home for months and cancelling a trip to Europe, I was ready for some kind of escape but didn’t have many options. Enter Airbnb and some fabulous friends. We found this absolutely gorgeous apartment that had been custom-designed and slept four.

What I found so special about this place was not just the way it had been styled but how the hosts had made the most of the space they had. The double bed and two singles were perched above the living area and had either stairs or a copper railing to help get you there. And the addition of closet space and privacy blinds helped give us privacy when we were sleeping. The living area had all the basic amenities you’d need and the kitchen was a perfect size to prepare a cheese platter and pour some bubbles.

The apartment is so close to the beach and a lot of cafes and restaurants, we were never worried about where to eat or get a drink from. It also comes with a street parking pass if you opted to drive instead of taking the ferry. Both great options.

A night here will cost you $139 and has a minimum 2-night stay. If you haven’t signed up to Airbnb yet, use my invite link and get up to $90 off!

Level 1: Treat Yo Self

Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection
Walsh Bay, 11 Hickson Rd, Sydney

This might be one of my favourite hotels ever. Everything about it for me just oozed sophistication and from the second I checked in, I felt like I was miles away from the noise of the city.

I’d say all of the rooms have some kind of view, if not of Sydney Harbour, then the beautiful city itself. The hotel itself is packed with amenities and I won’t be surprised if you choose not to venture too far from your room. Except maybe to walk around Sydney Harbour and take in the glorious views. The restaurant and bar maximise the views on offer and you can’t go wrong with what’s on the menu.

Absolutely perfect if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion with a weekend away or just looking to treat yourself!

I’ve seen prices for these rooms starting at $255 and is worth every cent.
